How I Can Help

On this website there is a page called “How Can I Help?” which details the various services I offer to help business owners. It spotlights most of the areas where I know I have expertise and which I feel would be most useful to those who are running businesses.

I realize a page like that is a place to start, but I also get that it doesn’t tell the whole story. That’s why I wanted to expand a little bit on my question and give you more details about what I’ve done and what I can do for you and your business.

First, the brass tacks. I was Director of Marketing for 14 years for Ensign Emblem and EnMart. I was the first Director of Marketing the company ever had. Over the course of my time there, I developed marketing programs for four companies, two of which didn’t prosper, mostly due to insufficient market research before I arrived at the company, and two of which did. I built the marketing programs from the ground up, blogs, collateral material, websites, trade shows, the whole nine yards. In that time I learned a lot about what does work and what doesn’t and how to tell the difference. I also gained some valuable insight into how to know when it’s time to cut your losses and move on.

During the time I was working for companies, I was also expanding my side gigs. I’ve written for a number of magazines in the garment decoration industry, which gives me connections for publicity and an insight into how to talk to decorators and their customers. I also have spoken at the DAX Shows for several years. This has taught me how to speak to groups and given me yet another avenue for taking the pulse of the industry. My interaction with the 2 Regular Guys Podcast and the Decorators Community has also introduced me to a number of influential people in the industry. I am also the founder of the Women in Garment Decoration Facebook group.

What this means is that I have the connections to help get businesses publicity, either in print form or on a podcast. I understand how decorating businesses need to speak to customers because I built marketing programs for businesses that supplied the industry. I understand how to sell decoration products because I have done that, for years. I’ve worked in print, in video, speaking live, so I have the skills to help companies develop the platforms that will work best for the desired purpose. I know how to use social media to build a following, and I understand how to determine what market needs to be targeted for best results.

My goal is to create profitable partnerships, to help businesses increase their customer base and their knowledge base, and to educate those in the industry about marketing, social media and sales. I want to work with people who have audacious goals, and to help those who aren’t quite sure where they’re going or what their business is about to find their way. Publicizing your business can be confusing. I’d like to be the guide that helps clear that confusion away.

I’ll freely admit, working with me won’t be for everybody. If I don’t think I’m the right fit for you, I’ll tell you that. If I think there’s someone who could serve your needs better, I’ll send you in the proper direction. My purpose is to work with businesses that can best benefit from what I have to offer, and my goal is to make sure that every business gets the help and experiences that suit them best.
